Job summary

Let's Talk Enfield & Barnet IAPT Services are provided by the Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust (BEH-MHT) and has a close working relationship with Let's Talk Haringey IAPT. We provide psychological / psychotherapeutic services to all residents over the age of 16 who are registered with a GP in Barnet.

We will ensure you have a committed team to work with, including a peer group of CBT therapists, counsellors and employment support workers with the opportunity to help us shape and develop the service as it expands and makes changes to meet the needs of our service users.

We are looking for enthusiastic, accredited and experienced IAPT CBT therapists who are interested in stepping up into senior clinician, supervisory and line management roles within the Barnet IAPT service. You will be part of a collaborative workforce that is significantly increasing access to treatment for people with depression, anxiety and other common mental health conditions within the primary care setting.

Main duties of the job

You will be highly competent in working with adults experiencing mental health difficulties in primary care as well as within a socially deprived and multi-cultural setting. Candidates must have experience in the supervision and line management of CBT therapists.

The post holders will report to and be supported by the Clinical Lead for Barnet IAPT.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Core mental health professional training in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Psychotherapy or equivalent, together with post degree diploma level training in CBT
  • Completion of a recognised High Intensity supervision course provided by an IAPT approved Higher Education provider (e.g. Royal Holloway
  • HCPC approved member or full accreditation with the BABCP for at least 24 months

Desirable

  • Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology or equivalent
  • Completed training in alternative IAPT therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, IPT or DIT.
  • Post graduate training in Long Term Conditions/ Health psychology.

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in providing CBT assessments and treatments across a range of severities and presentations
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse
  • Completion of a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision since working as a qualified clinical psychologist, HI therapist or CBT therapist over a minimum of 24 months
  • Experience of line management, case management and clinical supervision of qualified therapists and therapists in training
