Job summary
We are looking for a Specialist Eating Disorders Dietitian who is enthusiastic, committed and interested in joining our busy and dynamic in-patient team at St Ann's Eating Disorders Service on a permanent full time contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the dietetic and nutritional input for the twenty-bedded inpatient service to those with eating disorders, supported by a band 7 dietitian.
St Ann's Eating Disorders Service is a specialist, tertiary service providing comprehensive care and treatment to those with eating disorders in North Central London and North East London. Iris Ward is a 20 bedded unit for females and males from the age of 18 and above and is accredited by the Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QED).
You will work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary team, attending ward rounds, Care Programme Approach meetings, team and service wide meetings. You will have the opportunity to contribute to quality improvement planning.
Main duties of the job
Job Purpose
Work as part of the Eating Disorders Dietetic Service to deliver a high standard of care to complex group of high risk adult patients with Eating Disorders admitted as inpatients.
Key roles are:
- Manage the nutritional needs of a 20-bed inpatient eating disorders specialist unit
- 1:1 patient assessments to assess nutritional needs and provide support and education to promote recovery
- Provision of advice to staff regarding Enteral feeding, ONS, BM management, refeeding guidance etc.
- Manage the meal plan system to promote recovery of inpatients
- Provide nutritional education groups
- Attend weekly multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings to provide feedback on individuals and support the team in devising care plans
