We are looking for high calibre, motivated and enthusiastic RMN staff nurse to work in our Inpatient Service within our Offender Care Service at HMP Pentonville.

The clinical work is varied, and with a population that is changing almost daily you need to be well organized, motivated and willing to work with high levels of complexity. Still interested then we look forward to hearing from you?

Please note, this position will be subject to prison vetting. You will be required to have a current right to work and reside in the UK.

Main duties of the job

The Inpatients Unit is a 22 bedded healthcare ward at HMP Pentonville. The unit has two wards providing both mental and physical healthcare to offenders who cannot be appropriately cared for in the prison's ordinary wings.

The unit usually works with an average of 18 patients with mental health needs and 4 with primary physical care problems (this varies with presenting needs). You will need a good understanding of both the needs and challenges facing patients with multiple needs in a secure setting.

The role will mostly involve in working in a multi-disciplinary team of RMN,RGN, healthcare assistants and prison officer support workers in both mental and physical health. You will be expected to be able to work in a busy demanding environment with competing pressures. In return the Trust will offer you access to high quality training and development.
