The post offered is that of Consultant in Community Rehabilitation covering the Community Rehabilitation Team in the London Borough of Enfield.

This 10PA substantive position has arisen as a result of the retirement of the Associate Specialist and ongoing transformation within the North Central London. The post holder will work closely and share the caseload with the existing consultant, Dr Ilyas Mirza.

The post currently sits within the Enfield borough directorate and there is an expectation of contribution to service line governance and management processes as a senior clinical leader.

Main duties of the job

This is the post of Consultant Psychiatrist within the Enfield Community Rehabilitation Team (ECRT) within Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH). The post covers the Enfield team, and there are sister teams in the other two boroughs of Haringey and Barnet covered by Consultant colleagues.

Principal duties will include: Senior clinical leadership to the ECRT service and responsibility for the medical care of patients under the care of team.

ECRT is a multidisciplinary team delivering a community rehabilitation service to clients with severe and enduring mental illness who are resident in 24-hour supported or residential accommodation.

  • oFull registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • oListed on the Specialist Register of the GMC Medical Register or eligible to register within six months.
  • oMembership of Royal College of Psychiatrist or equivalent qualifications/ certification
  • o To be "approved" under Section 12 (2) of the 1983 Mental Health Act, the 2007 amendments and any successor legislation.
  • oApproved Clinician status in terms of the same legislation
  • oTraining and experience in evidence based interventions Rehabiliation
  • oMembership of a professional indemnity organization.
  • oEngagement with annual appraisal.
  • oExperience of Safeguarding Children Framework
  • oExperience in multi-disciplinary teaching.
  • oAbility to take a leadership role in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high quality care and staff morale.
  • oParticipation in Medical Audit
  • oCapacity to respond positively to the constantly changing NHS environment
  • oExcellent communication skills in verbal and written media.
  • oBasic computer skills, including ability to use email and Internet
  • oExperience in data gathering and management
