Staff Nurse - Eating Disorders Inpatient Services

If you are a RMN/RNLD/RCN graduate nurses with a specialist interest in eating disorders, we want to reward your passion.Iris Ward is a QED accredited service, rated as 'Good' by the CQC in September 2019. We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and dynamic staff nurses (including newly qualified nurses) to be part of our team on Iris Ward.This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and training in this interesting and specialised area of mental health care. A tailored training programme on caring for patients with eating disorders is provided, as well as training in psychological interventions and physical health interventions. This nursing role on Iris Ward is ideal for someone who is motivated and is inspired to promote positive change.Iris Ward is part of the comprehensive eating disorder service provided at St Ann's Hospital through Specialist Services at BEH Mental Health NHS Trust. St Ann's Eating Disorder Service also comprises a large outpatient department, which provides care and treatment to those with eating disorders in North Central and North East London, and a day programme.Retention SchemeThe successful applicant will join a 3 year retention scheme within the service as outlined below.

Completion of probation and workbook - £1000 - After month 12 Completion of internal family therapy intervention training - £1000 After month 24

Sign off as MANTRA ready - £1000 - After month 36

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of the inpatient nursing team on a ward that provides care and treatment to patients with anorexia, addressing the patients' physical health as well as mental health needs.

To participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary team and provide a therapeutic experience to patients, both as a Primary nurse and also as part of the general therapeutic milieu on the ward.

To promote the effective treatment, care and support of clients who have eating disorders.

St Ann's Eating Disorder Service also comprises a large outpatient department, which provides care and treatment to those with eating disorders in North Central and North East London, and a day programme.

  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing

  • ENB 998 (Mentorship Course)
