Job summary

Enfield Community Services have a newly commissioned Post Covid Syndrome pathway and present an exciting opportunity to join and develop the psychology component. The postholder will support the service to develop to meet population need, establish a borough based MDT and develop close working relationships with system partners at UCLH & Royal Free Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide a psychology service to clients of the Post Covid team and other teams when necessary or appropriate: providing highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention and treatment. More specifically to take a significant role in the design and delivery of an evidence based Long Covid Service and in particular to assess patients when referred by the team and undertake individual and/or group work with patients where appropriate. To Supervise trainee and Band 7 clinical psychologists, and offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers. Working autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

It will be a requirement of this role to participate in job planning which forms a key part of the working practices of qualified psychological therapists.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996), including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
  • Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist.

Desirable

  • Additional post-doctoral training in evidence-based therapies e.g. CBT

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of NHS care settings such as community, primary care and/or inpatient settings and in providing individual and group therapy.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in consultation and collaboratively with Social Care Teams.
  • Experience of working with Patients with physical health conditions
