Job summary

As part of the Trusts strategy to achieve this vision, the implementation of a new Learning Management system is a strategic enabler to enhance and improve the learning experience of our teams, focus on high performance and in turn enhance the care we provide to our patients.

Main duties of the job

Working across the organisation, you will have overall responsibility for the implementation of the new LMS and all operational tasks relating to the implementation, project management and day-to-day running of the LMS, while taking charge of expanding and promoting the use of the LMS within the organisation and developing our learning culture.

You will need to have worked with an LMS before, and will be a quick learner, with good understanding of information management systems and strong experience of complex databases.

The successful candidate will work with a range of subject matter experts and other stakeholders to refine and develop our e-learning capabilities and resources. The post holder will have experience of designing e-learning packages and working with a range of platforms including Totara / Moodle and content creation platforms such as Camtasia / articulate. They will also have a knowledge of workforce information systems and databases e.g. ESR/OLM, HTML, and e-learning authoring tools.

The post holder will develop plans to sustain e-learning across the Trust and ensure that core mandatory and training compliance is maintained, whilst developing and promoting online career and personal development solutions for all staff across the organisation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

Essential

  • o Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. o Evidence of completion of training in e-learning design and use of a range of authoring tools o Recognised project management qualification, e.g., Prince 2

Desirable

  • o PGCE / Teaching qualification o ICDL qualification

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • o System administrator for a large, complex database (preferably an LMS) in a large, complex organisation o Proven ability to manage projects in a complex organisation. o Experience working with digital learning or web content (e-learning/video) o Designing, planning and implementing technology -based training. o Managing or supervising staff o Proven track record of working with service users to deliver quality driven learning solutions o Working with Moodle/Totara and other Learning Management Systems

Desirable

  • o Previous experience of working in an NHS organisation o Minimum of two years' experience in learning environment in a trainer/facilitator capacity or other related experience o Understanding of e-Learning technologies o Evolution of ESR/OLM & TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning)
