Job summary

Our very busy Oncology department is offering the opportunity for an experienced Band 3 Patient Liaison Officer to provide administrative support to our highly cohesive team for 37.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days.

Receipting 2ww referrals on our Oncology database/PAS and liaising with clinicians to determine the appropriate pathway, candidates must be confident working under pressure. Ensuring all required referral details are provided, applicants will have a keen eye for detail. A key element of the role is monitoring of clinic capacity and arranging clinic and imaging appointments within the National Cancer Waiting Times targets.

The successful applicant will be a diligent and organised worker, with the ability to be flexible within a small team and at times work alone, managing their own workload and using their own initiative. Candidates are required to be confident in liaising with people at all levels, as well as communicating sensitive information with an understanding of patient confidentiality, adhering to all NHS policies and procedures.

Previous experience working within the NHS and knowledge of the hospital PAS system is desirable for this role.
