Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity, we are advertising for a Child Health Matron to join our team. We are looking to recruit to a 37.5 hour post mainly working Monday - Friday. Please note that there is an on-call requirement for this role.

The post holder will be provide dynamic collaborative leadership and direction across the areas within the Neonatal/Paediatric service. A visible and approachable leader who will support the delivery of high standards of care. Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide professional, clinical, and managerial leadership withinpaediatric services. They will act as a role model to provide excellent leadership andoperational management in their assigned areas. Working collaboratively and cooperatively within the multi-disciplinary team their focus will be on the areas of patientsafety, experience and engagement and clinical outcomes will be essential.

The maternitytransformation programme sets out the 10 work streams that inform quality initiative andtransformation integral to the matron role but not limited to the transformation programme.The work streams are pivotal to collaborative working and building inter professional relationships within maternity and neonatal services.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Divisional Management Team participate in the production of the Divisions Annual Business Plan.
  • To contribute to the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of theDivisions strategic and operational plan concerning, staff competency, staffobjectives and targets, time plans, quality improvement.
  • Monitor service delivery and patient outcomes, identifying new initiatives andinvestigating any issues arising within the clinical area, formulating, and adjustingplans to ensure that care is delivered in the appropriate care setting.
  • Co-ordinate and assess the operational planning of the service to enable the Trustsand the Divisional objectives to be met.
  • First line management of Band 7 Nursing staff including ward mangers, team leaders,
  • Specialist nurses and Shift co-ordinators.
