Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Access to Health Records Officers at the Aspire award winning Information Governance Department at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
There are 2 posts available: 1 x 37.5 hours per week, 1 x 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role will be:
- Responsible for ensuring all requests for Access to Health Records are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner within the set timescales.
- To support a Trust Wide service by multi - site working in accordance with the needs and priorities of the service.
- Responsible for accurately recording all requests onto the departmental system in a timely manner in line with finance systems.
- Responsible for ensuring mechanisms are in place to retrieve records, copy records and to liaise with multi - disciplinary staff where the need arises regarding disclosure.
- Responsible for processing all associated documentation regarding appropriateness of requests, photocopying, consents and identification checks ensuring that processes are consistent, transparent and legally compliant.
- Ensure all telephone enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and confidential manner.
- Ensure that all paper records are processed and tracked in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and Trust Wide Tracking Systems.
- To support and be involved with service planning, service improvement and implementation under the direction of the Information Governance Team.
- Compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and Information Governance.
- Responsibility in all dealings with staff and patients to comply with legislative requirements and best practice in acknowledgement of managing diversity, equal access and equal opportunities.
