Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and support of the Trusts IT orientated project within the IT Services Department; . The role will encompass an in-depth technical understanding of the Trusts core IT services including Active Directory, WINS, DNS, DHCP, MS SCCM along with other infrastructure services as deployed by the IT department. The post holder will also have specialist technical knowledge of IT security technologies including Anti-Virus, Patch Management and Proxy services. A good technical knowledge on the N3/HSDN NHS wide area private network is required along with knowledge of the World Wide Web and proficient networking skills. The post holder will also be required to problem manage issue that arise due to the deployment of new technology before its handed over to BAU.

Main duties of the job

The IT Technical Project Engineer will oversee technical projects to assure a high level of accuracy and quality. They work with teams to translate requirements into implementable tasks with practical timelines. They will also collaborate with end user/suppliers to find and solve any problems within the project plans and budgeting.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to A level equivalent or holds a professional IT qualification.
  • Prince 2 Foundation (Projects in a Controlled Environment)

Desirable

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • ITIL Foundation Level

Experience

Essential

  • IT infrastructure support experience as part of a Service Delivery function
  • Has achieved proficiency in the role of Problem Analyst
  • Supporting large-scale NHS infrastructures and associated software services
