The successful candidate will participate in the Intensive Care Consultant on-call rota and 'Hot Week system' as well as completing regular sessions in their dual specialty. Specialty commitments may take place on any of our Trust sites. The Intensive Care Unit is based at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan.

- Full registration with the GMC with valid license to practice
- FFICM, EDIC or equivalent
- CCT or eligibility within 6 months
- Possession of / eligibility for Fellowship / Associate Fellowship of Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine
- Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register
Desirable
- Dual CCT or equivalent
- Certificate in Medical Education
- Membership of professional societies
Experience

- Practical experience in the management of critical care patients
- Previous appointments that have provided professional training in Intensive Care Medicine
- Proven experience of Audit and Quality Improvement with evidence of change
- Understanding of management responsibilities of a Consultant
- Ability to work in a team with professional colleagues, both medical and non-medical, and other Departments
- Evidence of commitment to CPD

- Skills in echocardiography
- Attendance at appropriate professional meetings and courses
