Job summary

We are looking to recruit an Admin Clerk to a 22.50 hour post, working Monday - Friday. The Clerical Officer will provide efficient and confidential admin and receptionist service to support the Audiology department.

Main duties of the job

Greet and check patients in at reception, answer telephone email queries and book appointments with the relevant staff.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To receive patients at reception and ensure that all patient demographic details are up to date.
  • Receive and process telephone messages in accordance with protocols
  • To action departmental post in a timely manner.
  • Deal with enquiries from the general public and other staff regarding clinic bookings.
  • To deal with telephone calls, telephone messages and email enquiries from users of the service, efficiently and professionally
  • Display a professional attitude at all times when dealing with the general public and colleagues alike
  • Responsible for the typing of any letters required by the head of department or other colleagues
  • To schedule patients appointments that are attending the Audiology department, allocating them to the appropriate member of staff and clinic.
  • Processing new referral letters by creating a patient file on electronic patient management system, sending an appropriate letter to the patient, adding to a waiting list or redirecting to other agencies
  • Process returned ear moulds by completing the necessary paperwork and distributing to relevant staff and departments
  • To book new and follow-up appointments in accordance with Audiology protocols
