Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) are looking to recruit a forward-thinking and motivated doctor to join our team delivering Acute Medicine services. These posts present an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician with a good understanding of acute medicine to join our dynamic team committed to the delivery of the highest standard of care.

The Acute Medicine service is an integral part of the Trust's Medicine Division, providing care for a range of acutely unwell patients across our Short Stay Unit, Acute Assessment Units and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan.

The successful applicants will join colleagues to continue the exciting developments improving the delivery of emergency care to these acutely unwell medical patients within the settings of the Emergency Floor.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join and support our Acute Medicine department at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. The advertised position is full time and may require on-call commitments .

The successful applicant will undertake independent ward rounds and assist in the direct management of acutely unwell adult patients within Bryn North

Candidate will have same educational and clinical supervision as in place for trainees.

The ideal candidate will have some experience working at foundation year two level in Acute Medicine and is looking to improve their knowledge, skills and considering a career in Acute Medicine.

Full GMC registration with a licence to practice is essential for this role.

The role will require you to work across all areas of the Trust which includes those that are designated as positive, asymptomatic and negative COVID wards.
