Reporting to the Trust Board, the Chief Executive is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic development, performance, and governance of the Trust. Leading an executive team, the postholder will place compassion and diversity at the heart of everything we do; creating a caring, inclusive, respectful working environment where everyone can flourish.

Guided by 'our four P's' - Patients, People, Performance and Partnerships, the chief Executive will continue to build on the success of the organisation and the WWL Family, strengthening and enhancing pursuit of the Trust's mission. They will also play an important leadership and ambassadorial role on the wider health care community, both across Wigan Borough and across the wider Greater Manchester Integrated Care System. They will work with staff, patients and the wider health and local community to improve clinical, quality and safety outcomes, the patient experience and support the reduction of health inequalities across the region.
