Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within WWL for an experienced, well-motivated and enthusiastic Data Administrator to join the Supportive and Palliative Care Team on a part time permanent basis. The role will consist of 30 hours a week over 7 days.
The main aim is to support the team with ongoing developments and provide support on a range of data projects. However the post holder will be required to provide cross cover for the supportive and palliative care support worker for periods of leave.
The role requires that the post holder produce and collate data using a range of data and information systems to produce routine reports. The post holder will ensure that data quality is at the forefront of their work and will be required to undertake data quality checks.
Data entry, analysis, validation and manipulation are key requirements of this role. It is essential that the post holder is confident in collating information from many sources. You should have knowledge and experience of using a range of excel software in addition to excellent IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft office.

Communications and Key Working Relationships
- Communicate interdepartmentally with all levels of staff and external agencies including community and charitable organisations.
- Adhere to Trust policies when accessing patient information.

Responsibility for Finance
- Ensure that all resources and equipment that are used within the course of carrying out their duties are utilised in line with manufacturers instructions.
- Contribute to service development to look at ways to minimise waste and make savings in the use of resources.
- Provide cover for colleagues as appropriate to ensure service continuity
Responsibility for Human Resources
- Assist teams in providing cross cover for the work of absent clerical supports/assistants when necessary. Co-ordinates leave in line with the administration arrangements to ensure continuity of service.
- Support new staff induction together with the identification and support of their training requirements and demonstrating own duties to less experienced staff.
- Facilitate a supportive learning environment that enables all members of the administration team to develop.
- Recognise the effective utilisation of all appropriate development resources and opportunities, undertaking training where required.
- Promote the ethos of continuous improvement disseminating any new knowledge gained to other colleagues.
- Recognise and accept responsibility for own personal development. Fully participate in the Trusts appraisal system and personal development planning process on an annual basis

- Compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 the post holder is required to fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all of their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
