Job summary
Applications are invited for a Trust Grade, Clinical Fellow at F3 level to support the existing team on the Community Assessment Unit. This is a 21 bedded facility, located on the acute site but managed by Community teams. It is led by a Community based Consultant Geriatrician who is supported by a GP and a team of ACPs. The job is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with no on call commitments. The post is for a six month period initially but with the option to extend if agreeable to both parties.
UK NHS experience is essential.

Clinical examination, investigation, diagnosis and ongoing treatment of the older adult on a bedded community unit.

Job responsibilities
- Perform ward-based duties e.g., Support Consultant led ward rounds, jobs related to ward rounds, EPR discharge letters, communication with patients and their relatives, their GPs, and other professional colleagues.
- Emergency and ongoing care of medical patients with the support of designated ward consultant(s) and on-call medical team.
- Ongoing contact with patients and their relatives
- To Perform basic clinical procedures e.g. cannulation, catheterisation, blood cultures, phlebotomy etc (with support and supervision where needed)
- MDT meetings with nursing staff, physio, OT, social workers as well as other members of the medical team
- Attend with authorisation, appropriate teaching sessions
- Training in managing acutely ill patients
- Refined IT skills will be highly desirable
