Job summary

BeeU provides emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people (ages 0 to 25) in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Our Crisis Home Treatment team has a wonderful opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the service

As an Advanced Practitioner you are expected to hold a master's level qualification including Advanced Mental Health Assessment and Non-Medical Prescribing.

In the role you will work in partnership with children, young people, families, and carers, managing complex needs across settings to improve experiences and outcomes through innovative, evidence-based practice. You will assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and refer where specialist input is required

Main duties of the job

  • To practice as a clinical expert; confidently and autonomously assessing and treating Children and young people, with a variety of physical and mental health presentations.
  • To provide expert clinical knowledge in both mental and physical health presentations.
  • To act as NMP for a defined caseload for CYP who are experiencing mental health concern.
  • To promote and lead on physical health monitoring for a defined caseload of children and young people, requesting all necessary investigations and, where appropriate, accurately interpreting, communicating and acting upon the findings of such investigations.
  • To take responsibility for own continuous professional development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities, internally and externally, to continually develop in advanced nursing practice.
  • To take responsibility for arranging adequate, regular, 1:1 time with the ACP practice supervisor/mentor, for the purpose of reflection, continued education and clinical supervision.
  • To recognise the limitations of one's personal knowledge and experience and seek support from lead ACP or medic when required.
  • To reflect upon any identified clinical limitations during supervision with ACP practice supervisor/mentor, and then plan how to address any significant skill deficits.
