We are looking for an Admin Assistant to join our Mental Health Admin Team based in Stafford who support a busy service, often in situations where empathy, patience and resilience are just as important as admin skills.
You don't necessarily need previous NHS experience to succeed in this role. What matters most is your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate kindly, and manage a busy workload. This role would suit someone with experience in a customer-facing or call-handling role. Do you have the right attitude, communication skills and are willing to learn?
Ideally you would hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification and/or experience, however even if your experience looks a little different from what we have identified, and you think you can bring a good work ethic and transferrable skills to this role, we encourage you to apply.
Full training is provided, and we are proud that many of our Admin Assistants have successfully progressed their career within our Service or the wider Trust. Staff have regular 1-to-1 supervision sessions, team meetings and annual appraisals.
Work base is Foundation House, St Georges Hospital, Stafford. Hours 9 am-5 pm Monday-Friday (30 min lunch)
Main duties of the job
You will be required be organised, professional and adaptable with a good level of written and spoken English.
- Answering a high volume of calls from people who may be distressed, anxious or in need of reassurance.
- Good listening skills and a respectful empathetic manner
- Personal resilience to handle workload
- Reception duties - greeting visitors etc
- Using our clinical system RiO, inputting, creating letters etc
- Completing a wide range of admin tasks from an electronic workflow inbox
- Scanning, uploading and copying and using various Trust systems
- Handling room booking requests
- Produce quality documents in a very busy environment
- Good time management and prioritising work
