Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Physiotherapist to join our Shropshire Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT). We provide a community service across the beautiful county of Shropshire. We are a multidisciplinary team providing specialist services to adults with learning disabilities who also require Physiotherapy and cannot access mainstream services.The ideal candidate will be somebody who is passionate about developing and delivering a high-quality Physiotherapy service, and can work creatively, embracing our MPFT Trust values.We operate blended/hybrid working between base and home, therefore every member of staff receives a laptop, work mobile phone and additional equipment to work from home (e.g. chair, large screen).

Main duties of the job

To lead a specialist Physiotherapy Service for adults with complex learning disabilities, some of whom have physical disabilities and/or autism; undertaking clinical diagnoses, assessment and interventions for communication and swallowing difficulties.To deliver a high standard of care using an holistic, person centred approach on a daily basis and providing clinical leadership, teaching and supervision to members of the team.To be an autonomous practitioner, holding a small mixed clinical caseload working without direct supervision within the context of a multi-disciplinary team supporting various pathways.To support less experienced staff, students and colleagues deliver the Trust contracted services.To provide expert advice in relation to Physiotherapy for adults with learning disability; signposting and providing guidance and information to health and social care professionals, clients, carers and relatives.To assist and deputise for the Allied Health Professional Lead in relation to Physiotherapy clinical and professional issues.
