An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen within the Provider Improvement Response Team. We are looking for a driven and ambitious candidate to join us who is willing to go that extra mile. We are seeking a solution focussed nurse who has proven leadership experience and with expertise in quality improvement or service improvement.In conjunction with the Lead Nurse, the Senior Quality Improvement Nurse will manage a joint health and social care team with both nurses and local authority officers. Previous experience of working with adult social care providers is desirable.The focus of this team is to work with the highest risks in the care market, including services at risk of closure, those in large scale enquiry or those subject to CQC enforcement action, to deliver the required improvements. The Senior Quality Improvement Nurse will also support the delivery of quality improvement projects across the system.
Main duties of the job
The post holder needs to be able to work autonomously and to support providers to deliver on action plans and quality improvement projects. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with all stakeholders across the system. Being able to negotiate solutions in challenging situations is essential. The ability to work and balance risks with uncertainty and in changing circumstances is required.The post holder is required to have significant leadership experience demonstrating the ability to line manage, coach, and develop colleagues to achieve performance targets.There is an expectation that where there are urgent closures or significant safeguarding risks, there may be a requirement to work evenings or weekends, however the normal working pattern will be Monday-Friday. Essential
- Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration
- Educated to degree level or similar equivalent academic ability.
- Masters/post-graduate education or experience to masters level equivalent
Desirable
- Masters/post-graduate education or experience to masters level equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Significant post registration experience in elderly care/frailty/mental health
- Significant relevant leadership/management role.
- Highly specialist knowledge of specialist areas, i.e. quality improvement, clinical governance, risk management acquired through experience or training
- Proven experience in managing and implementing change.
- Experience of chairing meetings
- Worked with a range of providers e.g. independent contractors, nursing homes, primary and community care.
- Experience of producing high level reports and analysis.

- Sound understanding of Equality and Diversity.
