Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Intervention team for the Children and Young Peoples Autism Service at MPFT.

The successful candidate will be working alongside our team of qualified practitioners to provide intervention support for children and young people with a diagnosis or Autism.

Main duties of the job

o Be competent as appropriate to the requirements of the role.o Demonstrate at all times the trust values.o Be responsible, under the guidance of a registered practitioner, for a defined population ofservice users in a variety of settings including clinics, schools, homeso Be skilled in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of care/supportpackages under the direction of a registered practitioner.o Have supervisory responsibilities as required and contribute to service developments

Qualifications

Essential

  • Higher apprenticeship level 5/Foundation Degree in related subject.
  • Care Certificate is completed in all 15 areas within 12 weeks (pro rata) of commencement of contract.
  • Evidence of/willing to undertake training relevant to the post.

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant placements/experience to the role including supporting or contributing to assessment and management of individuals with compromised functional ability
  • Ability to manage time and caseload effectively.
  • Experience of working in Occupational Therapy / Speech and Language Therapy / Physiotherapy

Desirable

  • Experience of working with young people with a diagnosis of autism
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Supporting service users, families and carers in dealing with the impact of disability

Skills

  • Understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection, Care Certificate HCPC, and I 7 Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Children.
  • An awareness of conditions and disease management and their impact on individuals and their carers
