Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Operational Team Leader to join our team to oversee the operational management of the Crisis Assessment Suite and Health-based Place of Safety (136 Suite) based in our newly developed facilities at St George's Hospital, Stafford.
You will have responsibility for the operational management and delivery of high-quality services and your role will be pivotal to the successful delivery of effective leadership and management of staff within the team, ensuring delegation of management supervision and ensuring appropriate clinical / professional supervision takes place and measuring performance within designated trust standards including CPA, Key Performance Indicators and financial management targets.
Both services operate 24/7 provides specialised facilities which provides a safe and comfortable environment where a person with receives urgent assessment and support to those that are experiencing a mental health crisis to see how they can best be supported.
This role is predominantly Mon-Fri 9am-5pm with some expectation to cover out of hours if required. We can consider requests for flexible working in line with the requirements of the role.
You will be required to hold a professional registration in Nursing, Allied Heath Professions or Social Work recognised by the relevant governing body.
Main duties of the job
As Operational Team Leader you will engage in and support the development of policies, procedures and working practices within the team. Ensure implementation, monitoring, evaluation and compliance with all policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
As part of this role, you will be expected to:
Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, and team clinical leads in the planning and delivery of the service.
To ensure that all Trust policies and guidelines are adhered to and provide guidance to clinical staff regarding implementation.
To support the local implementation/development of National strategies and to initiate change and practice development.
To manage designated team, exercising effectiveness and flexible budget control in order to stay within budgetary limits in conjunction with locality manager.
Maintains the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and Essential Standards
Authorised signatory for budgets associated with the delivery of all aspects of clinical care and service requirements
Day to day line management responsibility for staff working within the Team including management of sickness, performance, recruitment and appraisals.
To promote, develop, implement and manage clinical standards and good practices within their sphere of responsibility.
Accountable for direct delivery of service, providing specialist advice which contributes to the care of service users.
