Job summary

Having great communication skills and the adaptability to use different strategies to engage with an individual at different stages of their recovery is essential in this role. Be part of change for individuals, helping them in their personal and collective journeys of recovery.

You will be using your lived experience working across the forensic directorate (sites at Stafford or Shrewsbury) alongside other recovery college coordinators with professional and lived experience and experts by experience as a valuable part of the newly established Forensic Recovery College.

If preferred there the option to work part time and be based at either the Stafford or Shrewsbury site. Please state any preference in your application.

Main duties of the job

You will be working across the forensic directorate, The Hatherton Medium Secure Service at St Georges Hospital, Stafford or Clee, Low Secure Service at the Redwoods in Shrewsbury.

Along with the other college coordinators you will be responsible for day to day coordination of The Forensic Directorate Wellbeing and Recovery College.

You will work closely with the lead for the forensic recovery college to re-establish and develop the work of the college. You will also network and develop links with MPFT wellbeing and Recovery College and other recovery colleges in secure services regionally and potentially nationally.

You will be using your own lived experience to coproduce and co deliver courses as part of the forensic recovery college and supporting other lived experience trainers also involved in this work.
