Job summary

We have strong links with academic institutions with staff from the service teaching university courses devised in conjunction with MPFT.

Our staff lead professional development sessions locally and nationally and you will be actively encouraged to develop your practice through internal and external CPD opportunities.

Main duties of the job

Trainees will spend 2 days a week at University/self-directed study and 3 days a week in supervised clinical practice at base offering assessment/ low intensity treatment to patients with common mental health problems

Trainees will progress to work with a high degree of autonomy and high volume caseloads including individual and group work. This may include telephone video sessions and face-to-face work. The role is well supported with weekly case management and monthly clinical supervision with qualified clinicians. In addition to clinical contact the role includes data collection/management, analysis, record keeping and community engagement activities. You must be able to demonstrate high standards of verbal and written communication, be able to establish good therapeutic relationships with people and be computer literate Following successful completion of the course and achieving satisfactory performance levels, there will be an opportunity to transition into a Substantive Contract within the service. Once qualified you will be required to become a registered practitioner with BABCP or BPS within 1 year

Applicants should have

A degree in a relevant subject OR Advanced Level GCEs A-C or equivalent

Significant experience of working with adults who have experienced mental health difficulties

Applicants need to be available for university screening on 12th November and interviews at the end of November
