This is a part time ( 0.8 FTE) Consultant Psychiatrist post in Forensic Psychiatry based at the Hatherton Centre, St George's Hospital in Stafford. This post is a newly created position in response to a reconfiguration of services across the directorate
The Forensic Psychiatry Directorate provides inpatient psychiatric care for mentally disordered offenders from Staffordshire, Wolverhampton and Shropshire.
Main duties of the job
The inpatient position is based at providing care for patients at the Hatherton centre, a medium secure hospital based at St George's hospital site. The post holder will provide medical input to Newport house, an 8 bedded medium secure intensive care unit with the Hatherton Centre. The post holder will also provide medical support to the physical health pathway

We are looking to recruit a consultant forensic psychiatrists with a CCT in forensic psychiatry for this position. Having PICU experience would be considered essential for the role. As the role will involve providing support to the physical health pathway, having previous experience of assessing and treating physical health conditions will also be essential.

- Full GMC registration plus eligibility for specialist registration

- A high level of expertise in risk assessment and management
- Ability to manage own time and to prioritise clinical workload
- A high level of expertise in forensic psychiatry
