Main duties of the job
Under the direction of the lead professional; you will deliver prescribed interventions on an individual and group basis with service users who have difficulty regulating their emotions and utilise self-harm to manage high levels of distress. The interventions will be focussed on assisting the person to identify and achieve their agreed goals, utilising a Structured Clinical Management model focusing on problem solving, managing emotions, getting along with others and managing impulsivity. You will also be required to provide interventions as directed by the qualified professional related to risk management, psychoeducation, social inclusion, activities of daily living and mental health promotion.
You will also be involved in supporting our service users to complete appropriate outcome measure tools, participate in reviews of the service user's care and effectiveness of the interventions and provide support to other colleagues and learners as appropriate.

The Intensive Life Skills Pathway is a multi-disciplinary mental health team providing assessment and intervention for adults with mental health difficulties across East and West Staffordshire as part of the Adult Mental Health Service. Services are provided from several Trust locations across Staffordshire and therefore the successful candidate will be expected to work from multiple sites.
The team works in a highly psychologically minded way and is passionate about working with service-users who present with high levels of emotional distress, high risk to self and others, and who often have histories of complex trauma and/or adverse experiences. Applicants should have an interest in working with this client group,
The successful candidate will support the running of Structured Clinical Management (SCM) educational skills workshops. These are an evidence-based group intervention for clients who struggle with emotion dysregulation, impulsivity, and managing relationships. Workshops are currently delivered remotely and face to face. The successful candidate will therefore have strong ICT skills and be able to communicate effectively with others through technology and in group settings.
The role will involve delivering individual interventions in line with the pathway model of working, under the direction and supervision of a qualified professional, in areas such as psycho education, risk management, social inclusion, activities of daily living and positive mental health promotion.
