Job summary
Are you a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) looking for a new opportunity to work in an organisation that will help you develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be? If so, you're in luck. We are actively seeking a motivated individual to work in close partnership with Staffordshire Police and Mental Health Services, with the aim of resolving Mental Health crises in the community, as identified through existing police channels, across the South East Staffordshire area. The role will be based from Lichfield.
We have 2 vacancies currently available in the team:
1 x Shift covers 16:00-03:30
1 x Shift covers 10:00-18:00
The Community Triage Service represents a joint initiative between Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and Staffordshire Police. It is aimed at assessing people in emotional distress (where Mental Health may be a factor) at the point in which they come into contact with frontline local policing personnel.
Main duties of the job
- Leading on the assessment of people referred to the service.
- You will enable persons in contact with the Police service with a mental disorder, learning disability, or substance misuse, to have equitable access to care.
- You will endeavour to provide clear liaison with all agencies involved in the Health and Police pathways, making sure that services are fully aware of all relevant information pertaining to current and historic risks.
- You will facilitate effective communication between the Police, social care and local mental health, learning disability and drug and alcohol services in conjunction with the B3 staff who support the Community Triage Team.
- You must act at all times with due regard to any legal (e.g. MHA, MCA) and/or professional (e.g. NMC Code of Conduct) and/or MPFT/Staffordshire Police policy/procedure guidance.
- The completion of Risk assessments and communication of any identified changes to all relevant parties as part of the risk management process.
