Job summary

The R&I team encompasses a variety of roles all of which are directed to supporting the design, support and delivery of research and innovation projects across the Trust and its partnerships. You will be responsible for support the Development Manager in the administration of grant funding contracts and collaboration agreements; supporting the finance procedures which underpin the contracts; being the first point of contact for enquiries and requests for information and support; and to support the Head of Research Governance and Innovation with diary management and the administration of the sponsorship pathway.

Main duties of the job

  • To play a key role in providing a high quality, efficient and effective research service by providing a central administrative resource.
  • To act as a source of information on Trust processes and services and in the set up and monitoring of research.
  • To provide financial administration by reconciling invoice requests with activity and contracts; raising purchase orders for support services; raising invoices to reflect activity; requesting the creation of account codes as necessary

  • Advanced administrative skills, preferably gained within a research environment.
  • Computer skills relevant to the needs of the post and the ability to have, or work towards European IT Driving Licence (ECDL) qualification.
  • Finance administration experience

  • Experience of working within the NHS

  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload, with minimum levels of direct supervision.
