We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our Adult Mental Health Services situated in Hall Court, Telford. The Service offers mental health care and treatment across a variety of different age ranges and presentation.
The post holder will be working as part of a team along with other Administrative Assistants and Medical and Clinical Administrators. The post holder will be expected to be able to use their own initiative and judgement, although they will be well supported by other Mental Health Admin staff and through the clinical and professional networks accessible through the community teams.

Main duties of the job
Our Administrative Assistants are an integral part of our Admin Team. The role is busy, challenging and rewarding. We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant working 37.5 hours per week, supporting the Adult Mental Health Services based in Telford.
What will the role entail?
- Provide a welcoming and efficient reception area and a proficient administrative service.
- Use a variety of electronic systems such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), MS Teams, Patient Administration System (RiO), Winscribe Digital dictation and the Cisco Telephony system.
- Utilise the patient administration system (RiO) daily, keeping accurate records such as booking of appointments, clinic letters, prescription queries and outcome letters.
- Confidently handling and prioritising complex telephone queries of a challenging/sensitive nature.
- Concise & accurate message taking.
- Using own initiative to proactively resolve problems.
- Administrative tasks ie photocopying, scanning, uploading documents and other tasks required for service need.
- Support the team in carrying out admin work requests via the centralised admin email inbox.
- Prioritise and screen incoming correspondence ensuring it receives appropriate attention and is distributed to the correct Team/person.
- Work in conjunction with other administrative team colleagues to ensure adequate office cover is in place.
