Main duties of the job
The Team deliver care to women who are severely mentally ill during pregnancy and within one year of childbirth. Working as part of a multi -disciplinary team, you will provide clinical care in patient's homes, local surgeries, clinics or wards. The post holder is expected to work in conjunction with colleagues to deliver high quality medical care and administration duties associated with care of patients, actively part take in academic training and the appraisal process, be a leader that inspires the teams and participate in the on-call rota.
You will need to have the following key skills and experience:
- Full GMC Registration and qualifications in MRCPsych or equivalent.
- Experience in assessing and treating patients in community settings.
- Knowledge and experience in working in the NHS.
- Have a genuine passion for working with women and their families in the perinatal period.
- Understanding of perinatal psychiatry, including local and national issues facing Perinatal Mental Health Services.
- Contribute to service development and outcomes for patients.
