Main duties of the job
As a highly specialist psychologist working on Willow ward, Clee low secure service, you will take a lead role in providing clinical services directly to service users with complex mental health problems and needs relating to risk and offending behaviour. You will support development and delivery of responsive services for families, carers and for staff working in the service, enhancing the psychological well-being of people who use the Forensic Directorate's services. Core to your role will be the provision of specialist psychological assessment, development of formulation for people with complex presentations, and planning and delivery of individual and group therapy interventions to meet identified needs. You will provide essential supervision and support to other staff who provide psychologically based care and treatment to service users, including qualified psychologists and professionals of other disciplines. As a highly experienced psychologist, you will work autonomously within professional guidelines and existing policies and procedures. You will be actively involved in systematic governance, service developments, policy implementation, teaching, training and research across the Forensic Directorate.
In addition you will work 1 day a week in an exciting new strategic role, working closely with Offender Personality Disorder Pathway Co-Commissioners, to support provision of the best co-ordinated approach for female offenders across Midlands and East of England.

You will: Leadprovision of psychologically-informed clinical services for service users with complex mental health problems and needs relating to risk and offending behaviour.
- Work within the Forensic Directorate inpatient wards and across community or custodial settings, as required.

Working as part of the wider inpatient service provided by the Forensic Directorate you will:

- Evaluate and make decisions about assessment and treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual.
