Following recent investment, we are launching a number of new development opportunities across both our core CAMHS and our specialist CAMHS provision.
We are delighted that investment in our core CAMHS provision has enabled us to offer an opportunity for a CAMHS Practitioner to join our CAMHS Team based in Tamworth, to support the needs of our children, young people and families.

The successful candidates will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children and young people with serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with children and young people and their families who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties. Acting as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will provide assessment, psychosocial, evidence-based interventions using a collaborative approach and will be skilled at risk assessment and management. They will complement the multi-disciplinary working of the team, providing supervision for other team members, as agreed with the Operational Manager.
They will participate in team and service development and evaluation. Liaison, advice and consultation with a wide range of agencies is central to the role.

Essential
- First level professional nursing/AHP/Social Work/Therapy qualification in mental health, Social Work Nursing or AHP or equivalent with demonstrable knowledge and continuous post qualified experience/professional development
- Conforms to Professional governing body requirements
- Professional registration with HCPC, NMC or equivalent
Desirable
- Additional Psychological intervention/Professional Qualification including CYP IAPT training, CBT, CBTp, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT, Solution focussed interventions, Possitve Behavious Rapport Planning
- Motivational Interview techniques
- Recognised appropriate qualification in mentoring/assessing/ supporting students in placement
- Professional specific additional qualification eg non medical prescriber, sensory integration therapy trained, Approved mental Health Practitioner (AMHP)
Experience
Essential
- Evidence of extensive post registration experience with working with those who may experience complex mental health needs in the community setting
- Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services and have complex mental health needs
- Experience of making decisions autonomously whilst working with people and families in the community setting
- Experience of integrating care delivery across multi-disciplinary /multi agency teams
- Experience of assessing and managing complex needs including risk within a structured framework such as CPA/Safeguarding Children frameworks
