Mental Health Support Time and Recovery Worker (Primary Care)

South Staffordshire - Rugeley and Great Haywood PCN and Stafford Town PCN

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic Band 4 Mental Health Support Time and Recovery Workers to work in our developing Primary Care Mental Health Team.

We have two posts available, one in the Rugeley and Great Haywood area and one in Stafford Town area.

We welcome applications from staff with experience of working in mental health who are interested in providing responsive and holistic services for people with mental health problems within a primary care setting.

  • Do you work well with individuals on a 1-1 basis and in group situations?
  • Are you forward thinking, organised and motivated?
  • Have you got excellent communication skills?
  • Do you have a genuine interest in working with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties within a primary care setting?

Main duties of the job

  • Working under the supervision of a Mental Health Practitioner.
  • The delivery of brief, short term interventions for people with mental health needs.
  • Mental Health promotion involving the development of effective relationships between primary care and local communities and other services in the voluntary and statutory sector.
  • Working closely with Social Prescribers and the voluntary and community sector.
  • Bridging the gap between primary care and other provider services.
  • Working with one of the Primary Care Networks in South Staffordshire

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health Care/Health Science OR NVQ Level 3 or commitment towards achieving it.
  • Certificate in Mental Health or Commitment to work towards achieving it

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs.
  • Supporting people with activities of daily living and promoting self-care and social functioning
  • Experience of working under pressure and assisting in crisis management.

Desirable

  • Working in a community setting.
