We are seeking dynamic, innovative and motivated Registered Nursing Associate or someone with experience and willingness to undertake the training programme. Someone who would like to join our Community Intervention Service and work alongside the multi-professional disciplinary team in caring for patients who are either transitioning home from the local acute hospital or have an acute medical need that can be managed in the community, preventing admission to hospital
The Nursing Associate training programme combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers. The trainee Nursing Associate will be based, as an employee (full time), in the Stafford Community Intervention Service , but will experience working in alternative settings including in hospital, care at home and care close to home, in order that they gain a wide appreciation of many health and care contexts and are able to fulfil all the requirements of the programme.
At the end of the programme, the trainee Nursing Associate will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Nursing Associate and will work to Nursing & Midwifery (NMC) Code.
A Trainee Nurse Associate would commence employment at a band 3 level, with securing a Registered Nurse Associate Band 4 position within the team, following successful completion of the training programme
Main duties of the job
The Nursing Associate will provide a mixture of general and specific care to a group of patients and will be proficient and competent to work at their registered level.
They will work alongside Registered Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
The post holder will have completed their Nursing Associate training and be registered with the NMC.
The Nursing Associate is a registrant who will be supervised by a Registered Nurse of band 5 or above.
The Nursing Associate must have a willingness to develop new skills and embrace change is expected. You will need the ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative with sound clinical knowledge and judgement.
The successful applicants need to have a commitment to providing care in patients' own homes, working holistically and be able to work on their own initiative, as well as, within a team. Core responsibilities include following established treatment plans to deliver patient care and supporting the reassessment of patients' needs within scope of practice. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate competence in a wealth of clinical skills such as medication administration, wound care and bowel, bladder, and catheter care.
Successful candidates will receive support into the role through induction, training and beyond.
We cover a 7-day service 08:00 - 20:00hrs and have shift patterns within those times. Due to the nature of community working, ability to travel across the patch to provide care to patients is essential.
