Job summary

The post holder will be part of the Psychological Therapies Service and will provide a quality specialist service offering a range of therapies.The post holder will work with people who have depression within NICE guidelines. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The South Staffordshire IAPT Teams provide a service for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems, operating predominantly within steps 1- 4 of the Stepped Care Model. Our teams are committed to continuing clinical training/development, supervision and support for all therapists. The service has been a pathfinder for several developments in IAPT service delivery. Therefore we have a proven track record for quality and research. Our friendly teams are committed to promoting the wellbeing of our workers, as well as our clients. As a Centre for research as well as clinical practice, we work in partnership with Staffordshire and Keele Universities.

Our services are expanding so we are looking to add four full time TraineeInterpersonal Therapistsand four full time Trainee Counsellor's to join our Stafford and Burton Wellbeing Services and upon successful completion of the courses will be offered a permanent position.This is an excellent opportunity for those committed to training and working within an IAPT Service at Step 3 of the Stepped Care Model.

About us

Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.To provide specialist psychological assessments of referred clients for suitability for the service.Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agency as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential

  • IAPT approved qualification in 'Counselling for Depression' or 'Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)' or minimum of level 5 trained in an appropriate Person Centred counselling training, plus at least 2 years' clinical experience post qualification
  • Full accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with BACP
  • Training in brief therapy.

Desirable

  • Qualification in supervision

  • Experience of evaluation in clinical work
