Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full-time PA / Senior Medical Secretary to support 3 consultants with Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine within the Womens CSU at Seacroft Hospital.

This post will provide full secretarial and administrative support to the consultants and their administration team.

As an experienced personal assistant, you should possess excellent organisational skills and be used to working with senior colleagues in a complex, busy environment. In addition, you will be required to organise surgery dates and liaise with the theatre management service.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a familiarity and expertise in using Microsoft IT packages. You must also have the knowledge and ability to use PAS, EPRO Scrik, and be proficient in audio / copy typing.

Main duties of the job

You must have experience in diary management with excellent IT skills and a professional telephone manner. You will need to be able to demonstrate exceptional skills in customer care, and ensure all matters relating to your work are dealt with in a sensitive timely manner. You must be able to adapt and prioritise your workload, and the ability to work on your own initiative.

It is essential the post holder understands and complies with the need for confidentiality and integrity, whilst having a professional attitude to work.

They will support and administer processes to sustain the Consultants practice through administrative protocols, processes and procedures in line with service needs. They must be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people including patients, medical staff and colleagues. The secretary may be required to cover for colleagues during absence and work flexible hours when necessary.
