An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Safety Learning Team Leader
Role within the Womens Clinical Support Unit at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS
Trust.
This
role is a key role working with the CSU Governance and Quality Lead to
support the unit on its governance and quality arrangements, and we are
looking for an experienced midwife/nurse who is passionate about enhancing
safety and outcomes for our service users and their families.
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary CSU
governance team and, as line manager of the Quality Safety Learning Team,
will oversee the day to day delivery of clinical governance and risk
management processes to provide assurance in the safe working and effective
practice within the CSU. A proactive approach to risk management and the
patient safety agenda will support the embedding of high clinical standards
alongside quality improvement initiatives to reduce harm and identify risks
related to morbidity and mortality.
As
a line manager of a busy team with often challenging workloads we are looking
for the post holder to be able to provide effective leadership and management
skills which promote a proactive approach to clinical governance and risk
management.

Job responsibilities
The
key purpose of the role is to support the Womens CSU Governance and Quality
lead to deliver the patient safety and quality improvement agenda. They will
contribute to the development of governance and quality improvement processes
to ensure the provision of high quality care standards, prevention of
avoidable harm and avoidable death by using evidence-based best practice,
lessons learned and data to identify incident themes, and areas for
improvement.
The
post holder will monitor and review incidents and investigations and escalate
any areas of concern to the Womens CSU Governance and Quality Lead. They will
identify opportunities for shared learning of highly complex, highly
sensitive or contentious information to members of staff and contribute to
the dissemination of information and learning to the wider multidisciplinary
team. This may include the
presentation of information which requires the use of a range of developed
interpersonal and communication skills when communicating

- Experience in clinical audit
- Knowledge and experience of national patient safety agenda and NHS England and CQC priorities.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a team.
