Communications
Manager - Leeds Maternity Unit
Were
looking for an experienced communicator with a passion for maternity services
to help us deliver our ambitious strategy and become an outstanding maternity
unit.
Youll
be responsible for a range of communications activities including delivering
campaigns; developing and maintaining the website; managing events and external
visits; leading on staff comms and engagement; developing creative social media
content; managing filming opportunities; creating stakeholder communications
and work with our charity partner - Leeds Cares.
Main duties of the job
Demonstrable
experience in a range of communications disciplines and enhanced interpersonal
skills are a must as youll provide a broad range of advice and support to
teams from across our hospital. Youll work with the wider corporate
communications team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals to deliver the Trusts vision
to be the best for specialist and integrated care.
To
be considered for this role you will be educated to degree level and hold a
recognised qualification in a communications related discipline, or have the
equivalent level of experience.

PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The
post holder will be an integral part of the Womens management team responsible
for providing an effective internal and external communications service to
support the Leeds Maternity Services in the delivery of its vision, goals and
objectives.
The
post covers the whole range of communications functions providing the
opportunity to be involved in all aspects of work and use their wide ranging
expertise.
The
post holder will be responsible for all aspects of communication concerning
both internal and external provision. Providing expert advice to staff at all
levels across the organisation, this includes drafting statements and
responding to media enquiries.
The
post holder will be responsible for leading and owning specific projects e.g.
writing corporate documents, leading communication campaigns and engagement
events with stakeholders. They will also be the named individual for the CSU
acting as key contact/account manager to ensure communication opportunities are
identified appropriately and that the CSU is advised appropriately on all
aspects of communications and media handling.
The
Trust operates across a number of hospital sites and regular travel between
sites should be expected.
