An exciting opportunity has
arisen for an experienced Senior Medical Secretary to join our team within Trauma
& Orthopaedics at Leeds General Infirmary. As part of the Trauma Related
Services Clinical Support Unit (CSU), you will provide comprehensive
secretarial support to one of our Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeons.
Main duties of the job
Provide high-level secretarial
support, diary management and ensuring smooth running of daily operations.
Manage patient attendances
efficiently, working under pressure to maintain quality care standards.
Liaise with medical staff and
other departments to facilitate clear communication and timely information
flow.
Assist in the organisation of
national and international conferences.
Organise and support courses for
trainees.
Support Research activities.
Arranging Fellowship programmes.
Support team members by
maintaining a positive, proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.

will work alongside the business team, to carry out clinical typing,
appointments, telephone messages amongst other general office duties.
Candidates should be articulate,
capable of undertaking a demanding workload and must be able to demonstrate a
significant level of initiative. Candidates should possess advanced keyboard
skills including a high standard of word processing skills to RSA III or
equivalent level qualification /experience, also GCSE English Language and
Maths grade C or above. Previous medical secretarial experience, knowledge of
medical terminology and audio typing is essential. You must be able to
demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to
prioritise workload. You should be able to integrate well with the existing
team and have a genuine desire to provide a quality service to all patients and
knowledge of the NHS are desirable.
