Job summary
This
role supports, helps develop and manage education and training across our
specialist areas: Orthopaedics, Plastics, Vascular and Major Trauma. Our
Clinical Educator Team currently exists of one band 6 Clinical Educator and a
Band 7 Clinical Educator Lead. We are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking and
motivated band 6 to join our team.
This
is a pivotal post for nurse education in clinical practice, so clinical
credibility is essential. You must be a registered nurse with a recognized
teaching qualification who is passionate about high standards of patient
care. You must have exceptional communication skills, be able to demonstrate
initiative and act as a positive role model for all grades of staff across
the CSU.
Main duties of the job
The
post holders responsibilities consist of a range of core teaching duties
which include but not limited to:
- Co-ordination, delivery and
development of teaching sessions at our specialist Study Days
- Skills based practical sessions
- Clinical skills teaching for both
undergraduate and post graduate staff members
- To assess feedback and respond to
incidents by formulating learning bursts and simulated activities
- Attend senior meetings with Ward
Managers, Matrons and Head of Nursing and take forward elements of Clinical
learning environment strategy supporting processes and transformation in line
with the education plan

The job holder will facilitate the development of
clinical staff both registered and unregistered.
The job holder will support the assessment of the
quality of clinical and other practice learning environments, and implement
interventions for improvement. The job holder will support mentors /assessors
and clinical professional development for preceptorship.
The job holder will support the development of
clinical practice mentors and key trainers, providing supervision through
on-site support and continuous professional development activities.

interdisciplinary and whole service working.
As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and
delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.
