We
are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the
Paediatric PACU Team based at the Leeds Childrens Hospital, Leeds General
Infirmary. We are a 24/7 team, covering emergency and acute work across
Yorkshire and the wider surrounding area. This fast paced, ever evolving
service runs 365 days a year. Therefore, interested candidates must be
available to work unsociable hours, nights and weekends as part of their
rota. Together with emergency/acute work, we recover a multitude of specialities,
the team also cover a number of additional areas. Our cohort of patients
range from neonates to young adults and interested candidates should be able
to build a rapport with both patients and their carers to facilitate
excellent patient-centred care. Successful applicants will be experienced
practitioners with a wide variety of clinical and leadership experience. We
are looking for innovative thinkers, with excellent communication and
leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
Maintain
a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with Leeds Teaching
Hospitals NHS Trust guidelines and policies. Assist the Team Leader in
leading and teaching the perioperative teams throughout the 24-hour period.
Coordinate activities within the perioperative environment ensuring effective
communication is maintained at all times, providing support to all staff
within the Department. Act as a role model for the development of clinical
skills and knowledge within the perioperative team. Demonstrate teaching and
assessing skills with a recognised teaching/assessing qualification.
Maintain
and promote a clean, secure and safe working environment.
Support
the Team Leader in setting and monitoring standards and seek to continuously
improve standards and the quality of patient care. Support the Team Leader to
build an effective and responsive theatre environment.
Provide
assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of perioperative care for
patients.
