is a Day Surgery Unit providing a range of day surgery procedures across a
range of specialties. We are based in the market town of Otley and benefit
from being part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals but away from the challenges of a
busy, acute teaching hospital.

Hospital provides enviable, good on-site parking in comparison to some of our
larger sites and as a smaller hospital it is extremely welcoming and
friendly.
Main duties of the job
We
are about to start on a journey expanding both in size, with 2 new operating
theatres and the complexity of cases we deliver so now is an exciting time to
join us and be part of that development.
You
will need to be a registered Nurse or ODP with demonstrable theatre
experience. You will be able to demonstrate compassionate leadership and a
willingness to work flexibly across the department.

Job responsibilities
As
an experienced practitioner the jobholder will co-ordinate activities within
the peri-operative environment ensuring effective communication is maintained
at all times, providing support to qualified and unqualified staff within the
department. He/she will play a key
role in the assessment of patient care needs and the development,
implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
The
jobholder will play an essential role assisting Team Leader in leading and
teaching the peri-operative teams throughout the 24 hour period.
The
jobholder will act as a role model, promoting quality evidence-based
practice, developing the peri-operative team and ensuring effective
management of the department in the absence of the Team Leader.
