As
Director of Operations supporting a portfolio of Clinical Service Units, you
will work within the Chief Operating Officers Team in one of the largest
acute Trusts in the country. Leeds Teaching Hospitals is rated as a Good
organisation by the CQC, with high levels of staff engagement, and excellent
clinical outcomes.The successful applicant will be one of five Directors of
Operations within the Trust. The post holder will play a key role in the
delivery of high quality clinical services, the Trusts commitments and
objectives, with a particular focus on achievement against the agreed CSU
Delivery Contracts. In addition you provide leadership in the development of
transformational plans. This role requires individuals who are driven,
ambitious and passionate about patient care, and who have a desire to
influence at the highest levels working in close partnership with senior
clinical and managerial staff. We are seeking a visible leader with a recent
track record of strong operational service delivery in a complex healthcare
environment. You will have an open and transparent leadership style with
extensive experience of effecting performance improvement and service change.
The successful candidate will be able to inspire and motivate teams to
deliver sustainable improvements.
Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a real
understanding of using data for improvement, and the ability to translate
complex systems and processes into easily understandable messages for
patients and staff. You will be resilient and collaborative and able to work
with national, regional and local partners to ensure person centred service
provision. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability
to commit to and role model our trust wide values and behaviours, The Leeds

Method.

Essential
- First degree or equivalent NHS management experience and evidence of practical application of expertise at this level
- Post-graduate management qualification or evidence of practical application of expertise at this level
Skills & behaviours

- Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure whilst supporting and getting the most out of staff.
- Proven strong communication skills, in particular, in building and managing interpersonal and team relationships, with strong and effective listening skills.
- High level of organisation, self-motivation and flexibility in approach and attitude.

- Experience of working at senior management level in large complex environment.
- Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams and have them understand the Trust's and your performance expectations
- Ability to lead the redesign of services to ensure they are delivered to the highest standard and are cost effective
