The successful candidate would be required to rotate between the two sites in Leeds, St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. Experience in hybrid SPECT/CT imaging is essential, skills in myocardial perfusion imaging and pharmacological cardiac stress testing would be desirable. The candidate should also be competent in IV cannulation and injecting radiopharmaceuticals.

Main duties of the job

Leeds is a large, busy centre for Nuclear Medicine supporting patients across the region. You will be expected to participate in all aspects of the Nuclear Medicine imaging service, including quality assurance, clinical scanning, and injecting radiopharmaceuticals. The main duties would involve; ensuring patients have followed correct preparation for different scans, explanation of procedure, injecting a range of radiopharmaceuticals and associated medicines for specific tests, completing diagnostic imaging (static/dynamic/hybrid) and processing images in readiness for reporting. The candidate would ideally have some paediatric experience but be willing to train in this area if not. Experience in myocardial perfusion scanning and associated pharmacological stress testing would be desirable but training will be available, if required. We encourage all staff to further their own development and be involved with additional roles to continually evolve our service, examples of this include radiation protection supervisor, patient engagement lead, infection prevention lead, departmental audits, and suchlike.
