Job summary

Due to promotion within the Radiology CSU an exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional Radiographer Team Manager to work with the lead Radiographers, specialty lead clinician/s, Business Manager Team and Radiology Triumvirate to deliver operational and strategic management of Wharfedale Hospital at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will be based at Wharfedale Hospital in Otley. They will be responsible for leading and managing the multimodality radiology department on this site.

Wharfedale consists of Xray, DXA, mammography and ultrasound and work to install a new digital x-ray room and two new DXA scanners is underway. This is an exciting period of change in the department and this is a fantastic opportunity to influence the service and the vibrant team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated radiographer with significant clinical and leadership experience to lead on and develop the clinical, technical and operational management of the service. They will have extensive knowledge of radiology, possess excellent communication skills and be able to provide specialist advice within LTHT and the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT). They will work in conjunction with the Lead radiographer, business manager team and lead clinicians to deliver the highest quality patient-focused care.

Main duties of the job

Describe What the candidate will do :

To provide and maintain a quality service in their designated department to agreed standards.

Manage the designated department on a day-to-day basis in conjunction with appropriate radiologists and support staff.

To liaise with all disciplines of staff, other departments/wards within the hospital and external bodies in order to provide a quality service to patients and clinicians. To monitor the quality of service provision through audit.

Ensure that mechanisms for effective communication with all staff are in place.
