An
exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathology CSU (Clinical Service
Unit) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for a Deputy HR Business
Partner. In this role you will work
closely with the Senior Management Team in the Pathology CSU and colleagues
in across HR to support the development and implementation of a range of
significant workforce projects and priorities. This will include but is not
limited to:
Supporting the move of staff to our
new, purpose built Centre for Pathology Medicine at St James University
Hospital site
Building robust plans to improve
retention and support staff engagement
Supporting Service Leads and the
Senior Leadership Team to improve staff wellbeing and inclusion
Working in partnership with teams
across HR and the CSU to fully understand the challenges that are unique to
this workforce and collaboratively identifying solutions and strategies to
tackle them

A
day in the life of a Deputy HR Business Partner in Pathology may look like:
9.00-10.30
Facilitate a conversation at the CSU Leadership Time Out on how we can
improve retention and staff survey results across the CSU
10.30-11.00
Meet with the Trust Health and Wellbeing lead to learn about good practice
across other CSUs that you can implement in Pathology
11.00-12.00
Peer support meeting with Deputy HR Business Partners from across LTHT to
share ideas, learning and plans for activity taking place across the
organisation
12.30-13.30
Meet with a Service Lead to create a plan to tackle on-going staff engagement
challenges
13.30-15.30
Desk time to work on drafting the Operational Workforce Plan for the CSU
15.30-16.00
Check in with the Senior HR Business Partner to discuss progress and escalate
and get support for any sticking points

PRINCIPAL
DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The
post holder shall be responsible for the following duties:
1. To work with the CSU Tri-team and
SHRBP to create bespoke innovative workforce plans that support the planning,
development and implementation of CSU Strategies and the People Priorities.
2. Working with the CSU Tri Team take a
lead on planning and co-ordinating all workforce and people priority
activities relating to the delivery of the people priority elements of the
CSU workforce plans.
3. In collaboration with the CSU Tri
Team deliver the workforce element of the CSU workforce plans in accordance
with targets and to meet key milestone plans.
4. To be responsible for the
communication of key milestones, programme and project plans to the CSU
Tri-teams, SHRBP, ensuring that the CSUs and wider clinical and non-clinical
teams are kept fully informed of forthcoming milestones and activities.
5. To actively liaise with LTHT
Work-stream Leads for the Workforce Strategy of work to include: the Equality
and Diversity and Flexible Working Health and wellbeing workstreams.
6. To assist the CSU Tri Team and SHRBP
on initiatives to progress the Trusts agreed People Priorities, working
collaboratively with both managers and HR colleagues from Corporate Centres
of Excellence.
7. To identify and address development
needs in relation to people management skills, capacity and capability within
the CSUs on behalf of the Tri team and SHRBP.
8. To assist the CSU Tri Team and SHBRP
on Trust wide projects and/or programmes of work if required.
9. To assist the CSU Tri Team and SHRBP
by facilitating and supporting effective organisational change in respect of
behaviours and values, service improvement initiatives, equality and
diversity and corporate social responsibility.
10. Develop data and triangulation of
metrics to support to assist the CSU/SHRBP in developing appropriate action.
11. Provide assurance to the CSU Tri Team
and SHRBP in relation to actions, progress and outcomes.

applications.
