We
have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our
team of specialist electronics engineers in Radiotherapy Technology Services
(RTS).
Working
collaboratively with clinical and scientific staff you will be supporting the
radiotherapy clinical service to treat patients through safe and effective
repair and maintenance of medical equipment including 12 Elekta VersaHD linacs,
3 Philips Brilliance Big Bore CT Simulators, a Flexitron remote afterloading
platform, Gamma Knife ICON, and MR simulator.
Alongside
the comprehensive fault resolution responsibilities, you will also have the
opportunity to participate in our linac replacement program, a six-year
initiative to refresh our fleet of linacs.
In
addition to this wide variety of equipment, your good communication skills, and
experience in managing medical devices will serve you well as you join our
multidisciplinary project teams in implementing new radiotherapy technology
solutions, such as our imminent Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT)
installation, as well as developing techniques and processes to support the
continuous improvement of oncology services for patient benefit.

Main duties of the job
Duties
of the role can include:

Leading and participating in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of
radiotherapy pre-treatment and treatment delivery systems.

Leading and participating in multidisciplinary project teams to provide
specialist technical support to enable the implementation of technical
solutions to complex radiotherapy problems.
-
Developing and updating processes that are relevant to own area of expertise.
-
Actively participating in the training of medical engineering apprentices and
trainees in electronics, radiotherapy equipment knowledge and medical equipment
management skills.
- Maintaining accurate, detailed, and timely records
of own work for medical equipment maintenance and fault resolution of
radiotherapy equipment.

Radiotherapy
Technology Services (RTS) is a group within the Radiotherapy Physics section of
the Department of Medical Physics and Engineering at the Leeds Teaching
Hospitals NHS Trust. RTS staff
collaborate with clinical and scientific users of radiotherapy equipment to
provide equipment management and related technical services.
The
four teams in RTS; Clinical Computing, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and
Technical Services, collaborate to carry out activity in multidisciplinary
workgroups.

healthcare scientist or healthcare science practitioner.
Applications
are also invited from unregistered technicians who may be appointed to a
lower grade until relevant qualifications, experience and registration have
