Job summary
Support the planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment by ensuring the administrative functions (transport, accessing notes & images, liaising with patients regarding appointments etc.) are completed.
The role also involves the direct support of patients through the radiotherapy process (assisting with dressing / undressing, aiding patients to the toilet, general patient care etc.).

Main duties of the job
General Duties
Ensure the clinical areas are well stocked, clean and tidy. Monitor and replace items when required.
Ensure clean linen/gowns are available and disposing of dirty laundry appropriately.
Ordering and checking stock for the radiotherapy department, liaising with the head of department to ensure budget overview is maintained. Unpacking order and distributing stock to the appropriate areas.
Act as a Radiotherapy unit receptionist using computerised patient administration system.
Organise and co-ordinate patient appointment scheduling for the day to day running of the treatment units.
Retrieve and deliver notes for clinics as required.
Collect notes and treatment cards for patients on completion of treatment.
Carrying out additional duties as requested by the Head of Radiotherapy or management team, commensurate with the grade of the post
General Clerical Duties
Make and amend where necessary patient appointments for outpatients within the radiotherapy department (i.e. treatment planning clinics etc.).
Book / amend patient transport as required
Liaise and arrange appointments for support services e.g. physiotherapist, nurses.
Maintain machine / clinic schedules.
Answering telephones, taking, conveying and dealing with messages. Bleeping hospital personnel as requested.
General Clerical duties as required by radiographers and other healthcare professionals.

About us
The radiotherapy department delivers treatment care packages to approximately 6,500 patients per year. Forming part of a team of co-ordinators, you will have a clear understanding of the whole of the radiotherapy process. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of radiotherapy via a combination of clerical and patient support duties.
