We
are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and committed to the
provision of excellence in respiratory nursing care and who would like to
develop their skills and knowledge in this field.
Respiratory
Wards is home to innovative, advanced practice which enhances the lives of
patients with conditions such as pneumonia, asthma, Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and lung cancer. "Helping Yorkshire Breathe"
For
all new starters to the Trust we have a structured Introduction to Professional
Practice (IPP) Induction programme to prepare you for working at LTHT. We also
have a 6 month preceptorship framework to support you in your new role, which
incorporates further education sessions and support forums.
We are very interested in hearing from you, including
those of you who are students expecting to graduate in the next nine months.
Main duties of the job
To
provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and
evaluation of individualised programmes of care.
To
deliver care without supervision
To
take charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister
or Charge Nurse.
To
participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior
staff, post basic learners and students.
To
take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients.
To
promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient
care.
The needs of this group of patients are often diverse.
You will be able to demonstrate how a chronic illness can impact on a persons
life and understand some of the challenges this may bring.
